3.6.2. Construction:
(1)  Stairs and landings shall be designed and constructed to safely support a live load of 4.8 kN/m2.
(2)  Stairs shall have:
(a)  uniform treads and risers in any one flight;
(b)  a vertical distance between landings or floors not exceeding 3.6 m;
(c)  an angle of rise not exceeding 50º from the horizontal; and
(d)  guardrails in accordance with Subdivision 3.8 and securely fastened and supported on the open sides of the stairs and landings.
